MacZealots 3.0: Contribute!

Saturday, January 27, 2007

As I have mentioned in passing before, we are relaunching MacZealots this year. After being dormant most of 2006 because of lack of time thanks to me signing up to write two books. Now that one book is already released, and the second one is covering Mac OS X Leopard, both Ryan and I have decided it’s time to get the site back online.

One of the major issues with getting content online was that all content came from either him or myself. This was fine when we were both in college and didn’t have much else to do but write, but now it’s not really reasonable. Because of this, we are now accepting third-party writers to contribute articles. We are still striving to deliver feature-length articles and tutorials just like before, but we need a little bit of help to keep the site going on a consistent basis.

Here’s a few ideas of the type of articles we are looking for.

  • Using Aperture for managing your digital photography library
  • TextMate vs. BBEdit Holy War
  • Getting Things Done With Mac OS X
  • Intro To Parallels
  • Your great idea here…

If you’re interested in contributing to MacZealots, please check out our .

Hm, I might actually try my luck on a TM vs BBEdit article. I’ve been a die hard BBEdit user for ≈10 years I think, but’ve recently fallen in love with a lot of TextMates features.

I’ll be sure to send you a mail if I get my idea hashed out more and think I can write something worthy :-)

A BB vs. TM article would be cool, just don’t call it a Holy War. I use both BBEdit and TextMate, and they actually get along with each other quite nicely. No blood, no witches hung, and no icons hung up on crosses.

No need to put some vi vs emacs zealotry in it :)

Holy War was said tongue in cheek. :)

And does she have Mac (real) or Micro (false) eyelashes?

Justin Williams says:

depends on when you visited the site. It loops through about 30 different pics.
